Note: Foreigner represented a dramatic departure from Stevens’ familiar acoustic folk sound, drawing instead on his love of American soul and R&B. He assembled an all-star American R&B rhythm section for the album, including legendary session drummer Bernard Purdie and guitarist Phil Upchurch, along with the celebrated Tower of Power horn section.
